Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has received a vote of confidence


Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has received a vote of confidence. Deuba, who was appointed prime minister on July 13, took a vote of confidence in the first sitting of the reconstituted parliament on Sunday. There are 165 votes in his favor.
Deuba, who is also the president of the Nepali Congress, has been voted in by his own party, the Nepali Congress, the Maoist Center, the Janata Samajwadi Party and the Rastriya Janamorcha. Twenty-two lawmakers from the main opposition UML have also voted for him.

249 MPs participated in the voting. There are 83 votes against Deuba. While RPP remained neutral, Nepal Mazdoor Kisan Party did not participate in the polls.
